For a beautiful dinner with a seaside view, you can’t go wrong with Pilours Restaurant. It sits up high on a cliff overlooking the water’s edge and is a wonderful scenic restaurant for a special dinner or lunch. It’s located one town over, in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, but close enough to Saint-Gilles-Croix de Vie that you could walk for an invigorating stroll after dinner.
A Spectacular View
Pilours is also a great place to go for a drink as well. They have a lively pre-dinner scene out on their terrace with comfy low-slung chairs for relaxing and enjoying the view. In the summer months, you can often catch live music playing out on the terrace as well.
What to Order:
The fish dishes are quite spectacular and so are the desserts. The menu changes seasonally and it’s a pre-fixed menu that includes either an appetizer, main and dessert, or a main and an appetizer or a main and dessert. We’ve done all three and it’s always a delicious feast!
Save Room For Dessert
The desserts are also pretty spectacular and the portions are not too big so they are easy to indulge in! Plus, you can take a scenic walk after the meal to enjoy the beautiful, rugged coastline.
Well Cared For Paths
The paths along the coastline or “La Corniche” as it’s known, are beautifully cared for and wrap all the way down the coast for at least a few kilometers. It’s a beautiful walk at sunset or early in the morning too. It will be crowded with joggers and dog walkers! But a great way to start the day nonetheless.
